Akiko is an entrepreneur like no other! And we wanted to make sure her branding portraits did her justice. For years, she worked in retail creating amazing window and prop styling. In 2011 Akiko opened her own retail boutique and used her experience in window styling to create a one of a kind experience. Most recently, her journey has led her to open Bloom Maven a boutique plant and floral shop in Tucson, Arizona.
As the owner of Bloom Maven Akiko is her brand. Her passion for florals and curation in obvious in every detail of her shop, and we set out to create something that would capture the feeling of visiting her shop. We also wanted to show what it was like when she was working! Akiko has used these images across her website and social media accounts.
The Planning
There was a lot of planning that led up to photographing these images! From conversations about what her brand was, to vision boards, to dreaming about a final outcome. We did it all! On the day of the shoot we spent 3 hours together creating different images that could be used for 3 months worth of social media content! (Yeah, she had enough photos for 3 months! No more recycling content and hoping no one notices!)
We included photos of her working, journaling, dream, in addition to photos of floral, plants, and other products she sells! Ultimately, it was 100% worth it! Not only does her visual brand match her vision, but also Akiko’s shop was featured in a 7 page spread of a national magazine: In Her Studio!
I’m sure you’re dying to see what we created together! This is just a small sample! Akiko created a few gorgeous floral arrangements, then we visited a local coffee shop, ate tacos, and finished the day with a glass of wine at a local restaurant! In every branding session I want to make sure we tell a story. There is so much more to you than smiling at the camera! And we can show it off together!
